Description

A fascinating museum with lots of interesting information, photos, artefacts and history of the Italians who left Northern Italy in 1880 and set sail for islands in the South Pacific. Island life was a disaster and many of them, mainly children, died. Sir Henry Parkes took pity on them and allowed them into the British colony of Australia as long as they worked for the locals for a year before they could go where they liked. Very sad history but turned out well in the end. There is also a pavilion of information which was donated at the end of the Brisbane Expo back in the 1980's. More information to read.
