Description

Described as one of the civil engineering wonders of the modern world, the Snowy Scheme consists of nine power stations, 16 major dams, 80 kilometres of aqueducts and 145 kilometres of interconnected tunnels. Murray 1 Power Station has a capacity of 550MW and uses water pumped from Lake Jindabyne through the Jindabyne-Island Bend Tunnel and Snowy-Geehi trans-mountain Tunnel to Geehi reservoir. No camping or overnight parking allowed.
