Description

Mount Piddington is a mountain in the Blue Mountains village of Mount Victoria. It has a lookout, restrooms and a picnic area at its summit. It is also the starting point of several bushwalking tracks that descend to the cliffs of Hornes Point and the Fairy Bower reserve. Notable sites on the slopes of Mount Piddington include Coxs Leap and Bushranger Cave. Coxs Cave circuit is a beautiful dog friendly walk in Mount Victoria! Start of this dog friendly walk / hike is at the foot of Mount Piddington (right behind the actual sign in fact). Follow the signs to Coxs Cave Circuit, turning left from the first two t-junctions. After about 500-700m you arrive to another t-junction. Turn left over the wooden bridge to visit Lady of the Bower (lifesized etching on a huge mossy boulder) and Fairy Bower Picnic area. Then follow the path back to the t-junction with the wooden bridge and continue straight ahead. In about 200-250m or so you will arrive at the Coxs Cave. Use the ladder (unfortunately not very dog friendly) to climb and have a look at this dome shaped hollow with colourful minerals. Continue your walk back to the Mount Piddington GRADE: Medium DISTANCE: 3km TIME: 2h More info and detailed map for the track can be purchased from Blue Mountains Walks. No camping or overnight parking allowed.
