Description

Viewpoint for Lunatic Hill Mine, an open cut mine that caused the original owners to become bankrupt. Currently worked by a syndicate. Excellent explanation from the miners, if they aren't down the mine, and a chance for the kids to be shown what to look for when examining tailings for opals. Part of the Yellow Car-Door tour, a self-drive tour sign-posted with coloured and numbered car doors. Drop into the Visitor Information Centre for your guide. No camping or overnight parking.
