Description

A Japanese Machine Gun on display behind glass and brick display right on the corner of Newell Highway and John Street, Coonabarabran. Plaque reads 'This Japanese Machine Gun was captured at Ahegulim (PNG) on the 3rd August 1945 by a section of the 2/5th battalion AIF. Bill Wilson was killed in the action and Sergeant Frank McNally had the gun returned to the Coonabarabran RSL. Also from Coonabarabran in this action we're J.Fraser, J.Howard, J.Spencer and - Cooper.
