Description

You are now required to make a booking for all campgrounds and campsites in NSW national parks. This includes locations that were previously available for use without a booking. This is necessary to protect our visitors and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Book online or contact the National Parks Contact Centre on 1300 072 757. With its peaceful setting on Thredbo River, Ngarigo campground is perfect for those who want to go riding, fishing, hiking or touring on Alpine Way. Tall alpine ash forest along the banks of Thredbo River gives Ngarigo campground an incredibly scenic setting that you might not expect just off of one of Kosciuszko National Parks major roads. Theres a large, cleared grassy area too thats perfect for groups. Sites are not marked and are not powered. Sites are suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, don't mind a short walk to tent. Facilities include picnic tables, barbecue facilities and non-flush toilets. Rubbish bins are not available, so please take your rubbish with you when leaving. Bring your own firewood. Camping is free however National Park entry fees apply. Bookings are not required at this campground. Campsites are available on a first-in first-served basis. Quiet generators are permitted in particular areas of this campground. There's limited mobile reception in this part of the park. Pets and domestic animals (other than certified assistance animals) are not permitted. NSW national parks are no smoking areas. All 2WD vehicles need to carry snow chains in winter, between June and October long weekends, on: Kosciuszko Road (to Perisher) Guthega Road Alpine Way between Thredbo and Tom Groggin Snow chains are recommended for all vehicles driving in the park, including 4WD and AWD, in the event of extreme weather.
