Description

Glenhope established in 1874 is still an active working farm today. Five generations of the Johnson Family, only second family to own the farm. Mark & Marie opened up Glenhope to free campers in 2018 when free camping became a bit restricted in Cobar. Glenhope Bush Camping offers a friendly camp site, firewood & farm fresh eggs are available for purchase, a helping hand, local knowledge, and a beer with Budgie (Mark). Glenhope is dog friendly (bring your own doggy poo bags too) dogs must be supervised & on a lead as sheep may wander past your van anytime.Groups welcome. Catering available for groups. Long drop toilets(clean), and they’re not a dump point for van cassettes. Bush Camp is accessible to RVs, camper trailers, caravans and big rigs. Plenty of space for all visitors. Checkout our new Glenhope Book Exchange in the fridge at the camp August 2024 is 150 years of Glenhope. Don’t forget to take a stroll up to the old cottage and windmill and explore the Glenhope Farm History! Admire the beautiful art that tells the story. (Art is also on Australian Silo Art Trail) Sit back, breathe and unwind in nature. Sleep under the great southern skies and immerse yourself in this quiet outback magic. Where the sunrises and sunsets are just amazing. Wake up with the wildlife. Put us on your list next trip, August each year we have a Glenhope Shindig ( live music, camp oven food, camping, entertainment, outback sunrise coffee and more…..) Keep an eye on our fb page or website for more info.Its an event not to be missed! Camp signs are at entrance of bush camp, please read signage before proceeding to set up camp. As of the 1st of August 2025 a fee of $10 per night per vehicle/tent/site will apply. There is a white donation box upon entrance of bush camp, a small blue box is attached to white donation box and there are envelopes in the small blue box.Please fill out envelope details with your information, enclose your site fee and pop it into white box.
