THINGS TO SEE AND DO NEARBY Girilambone has taken its name from an Wongaibon Aboriginal word meaning 'place of many stars', 'falling star' or 'meteorite' - so make sure you take some time to gaze at the amazing night sky The CWA War Memorial Park is dedicated to those who served in the First and Second World Wars, with a brick and timber gateway and a small white stone obelisk located on site Grave of Helena Kerz at the Girilambone Cemetery - her story is so complex that it probably was told best as a novel which Thomas Keneally did brilliantly with 'The Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith' EATING OUT The Hog & Billy Hotel (formerly the Girilambone RSL) located opposite the Hog & Billy Hotel to the camping area Opening hours currently are: Mon - Fri 4pm to late Sat 12pm to late Sun 12pm to 22pm Bushcraft Cafe located alongside the Mitchell Highway Opening hours currently per below (extended during harvest season): Mon - Sat 6am to 3pm Sun closed
