The defined campground is small, mostly sloping with a couple of level areas for caravans. No real view of the water. Old BBQ tables and fire pits plus 1 drop toilet. While there is a short drive in you end up close to the highway and can hear truck noise but okay at night. There are spots closer to the dsm but more suitable for vehicle, tent, camper trailers, but no toilet in those areas. No way we could find the walking track - very poorly signposted. Okay for an overnighter if you have run out of options. You must book and while free there is a $6 booking fee which seems silly! Why not just say it is a camping fee.

Free campground with spectacular views and sites. Plenty of wildlife. Clean toilet.

This place is spectacular. Toilets are clean, short walk to the water and the water was crystal clear. The wildlife is spectacular. We found a level spot for our van. Anyone who drives past this one is crazy!!!!!

Main camp does not have views and not very level for a caravan but plenty of kangaroos And bird life. Short 4wd to water. Drop toilet full of spiders and lots of large flies. A decent camp but looked like there were better along the reservoir. Short drive to tumut . Also don't miss the turn off! You have to drive left off highway and back over bridge into site

Main camping area doesn't have views of the water - decided to keep going and finds somewhere else. Couple of level spots near boat ramp but no tree cover there. Track past camp ground became too rough to guarantee safe exit of it rained... and the track has no turn-around or passing clearings until the end - wouldn't like to meet a van coming the other way.

Took our semi off road van down past the main campground to the dam and only just got it back out - proceed at own risk!

Beautiful spot. Quiet. Loved our stay. Tumut is the most beautiful town. Will be back to explore on our bikes

Wow! We travelled on a bit further than the immediate sites close to the toilet down to the lake and then just a bit further, needed full 4WD with our off road van to get up the hill and obviously self contained. Fabulous views.

The main camping area is grassy and quite small. There would only be enough room for 2 large caravans and a small tent. There are many other campsites away from the main camping area, accessible to AWD/4WD vehicles.
