Dularcha National Parks historic railway tunnel, built in 1891, is one of only two tunnels built along the old North Coast Line between Brisbane and Gympie. Today this 93.5m long curved tunnel provides a dark and suitably protected site for seasonal roosting by a variety of small bats, including large-footed myotis. Tunnel track Distance: 3km one-way. Distance to tunnel 900m one-way (from northern entrance) or 2.1km one-way (from southern entrance)

Need Time Away (Al and Bec)

Great place to visit. We took our bikes and loved it. The tunnel track was fascinating. Didn't see any bats but it may be the wrong season.


Unknown Milestone

You can park at the end of Rose Road (where the National Park gate is) and walk approx 450m to Tunnel. You can also park at the end of Paget Street.



Abandoned old rail tunnel. Great hidden find 500m from end of road. You can walk all the way through tunnel (approx. 200m).
